THURSDAY, 5/28 & FRIDAY, 5/29:
BOOK RETURN DAY:
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES FROM MRS. MITROS REGARDING MATERIAL RETURN FOR TODAY & TOMORROW:
Lower School: Teachers have gathered the belongings from students’ desks and cubbies and have placed them in bags bearing the student’s name. These bags will be available in each homeroom. We ask that you come and return all books (except for disposable, used workbooks). Please help your child look through books for loose papers, erase any writing, remove book covers, and flatten any pages in order to return the books in the best possible condition.
PROCEDURE ON BOOK RETURN DAY:
We ask that you adhere to the following schedule to facilitate traffic flow and to make it easier for us to monitor that the number of visitors in each of the buildings at one time does not exceed 25 parents/student. The most even distribution of students is done by the following division:
Thursday, May 28, 9:00 – 11:30: Last Names A – C
Thursday, May 28, 12:30 – 3:00: Last Names D – H
Friday, May 29, 9:00 – 11:30: Last Names I – Q
Friday, May 29, 12:30 – 3:00: Last Names R – Z
Unless this timespan is a burden for you, please attempt to come at the assigned time.
Lower School families should enter the South Doors by the blacktop playground and exit on the Kindergarten ramp.
Middle School should enter down the back steps, and exit out the gym doors.
High School should enter and exit through the main lobby.
In order to make this easy and safe for all, we ask the following in keeping with the state guidance while on “yellow”:
1) Students and parents may enter together if desired. Middle and High School students may enter without a parent, particularly if the parent is helping with lower school book return. Please do not come into the building if you have a fever over 100.4° or are sick. There will be a faculty member or administrator at the door to receive your books and retrieve your items if you are ill.
2) You will be required to wear a mask in the building at this time. Teachers will also be required to wear masks.
3) There will be hand sanitizer at the entrance and exit.
4) Doors will be propped open so that you need not unnecessarily touch high- contact areas.
5) Please observe social distancing by family unit while in the buildings.
6) If too many people are in a given building at one time, you will be asked to wait for a couple minutes before you enter.
7) Note that this is not the time for a prolonged conversation with your child’s teacher. Please be present only as long as it takes to get your things, return your books, and say good-bye. We have 240 families to move through this process in two days.
